About

As a graduate of Warsaw Community Schools, I was truly blessed to grow up in a wonderful community where my teachers and coaches invested much in me and helped me to achieve my dreams. Because of this, I am seeking a position as a K-6 teacher in a Warsaw elementary school, where I will have a chance to give back to the community that has given so much to me. I believe that with my experience, I will be an excellent fit in any teaching position available. I am a native of Warsaw and will work hard to nurture strong relationships with the students, parents and faculty at your schools. My husband and I believe in this community so much, we are moving back to Warsaw so our children will be educated in the Warsaw Community School Corporation. As a teacher at Warsaw, I would use my experiences and skills to help students set high goals for themselves and give them the tools to help achieve their dreams.

After graduating from Warsaw High School in 2002, I furthered my education at Huntington University in Huntington IN. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. In 2007, I started my first position at Manchester Community Schools as a kindergarten teacher. For the last five years I have remained at Manchester teaching fourth grade. While teaching fourth grade, I earned my Masters through Ball State University in Elementary Education. Through my graduate classes I learned dynamic reading, writing and math strategies that I have implemented in my classroom. As a result of these strategies, and being part of a team tasked to start an effective Response to Intervention program in fourth grade, my students have shown great growth. All of my experiences have strengthened my desire and motivation to encourage students to give their personal best, break through limitations and pursue their dreams.
